N O T I C E   O F   R A C E

1.             Rules

The regatta will be governed by the rules, as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing and each fleet’s class rules.  

2.             Eligibility

2.1          The regatta is open to all boats of the J/80, J/105 and J/109 classes whose skippers are members of the respective class associations.  There will be a PHRF division for sprit boats without their own class.

2.2          Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached entry form and sending it with the required entry fee.  This must be received by May 28, 2010.

2.3          Late entries may be accepted at the sole discretion of the Regatta Committee.

2.4          Crew weigh-ins will be conducted at registration.

3.             Fees

3.1          $150.00 for US Sailing Members

3.2          $175.00 for non-members of US Sailing

3.3          There will be no late entry fee!

3.4          Entry fees are non-refundable.

4.             Registration

4.1           Checks should be made out to “Breakwater Yacht Club” and entries should be mailed to:

4.2          Entry form will be online at www.spritfest.org.

5.             Schedule

5.1          All races will be run in Noyac Bay.  The starting area will be to leeward of the leeward mark, which will be set based on the prevailing conditions.

5.2          The first warning signal is scheduled for 1100 EDT on Saturday June 5th.  The first warning on Sunday June6th is scheduled for 1030 EDT.

5.3           The order of starts for the first race each day may be scheduled as follows:

- J120

- J/109

- J/105

- PHRF Open

- J/80

5.4          Five races are scheduled.  One race shall constitute a regatta.

6.             Scoring

                The low point scoring system (see RRS Appendix A) will be used except that there will be one throw out only after 5 races are completed (this modifies RRS A2).

7.             Prizes

Prizes for 1^st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in all classes.

8.             Sailing Instructions

            Sailing instructions will be available at registration at BYC.
